Default Aluminum driveshafts

Are aluminum driveshafts legal in Stock for the 4th gen LT1 Camaro's? Or were they only available in the LS1 cars?

Cam--Aluminum driveshafts are accepted by the NHRA on any LT1 or LS1 Camaro or Firebird .

Jack:
Thank you for the reply. Where would I find some supporting documation? Were they in all of these cars or as a specific option package? Do you have a part #.
Thanks,
Cam

Cam i can help you a little, as i was the one that presented the Documentation to NHRA in 1996 in the Form of a letter from GM , stating that the OEM driveshat had some harmonics and it was being superceeded with an Aluminum Driveshaft. I gave this letter to Bob Lang at the Gators in 96! This was for all F-Boby Camaros and Firebirds

woodro josey
I miss Buster Couch and Lex Dudas.

Woodro is correct. The aluminum driveshaft was a fix for vibration problems in 96 V8 cars and in 97 it was standard.
