Default Re: Carb cleaner

Vic,
The newer carb cleaners just dont work like the old nasty stuff used to. I do a few carbs each year, mostly for friends and I have been putting them in my Ultrasonic cleaner. I just did a Quadrajet off a boat that was pretty nasty and it turned out nice. Depending on what chemical you use it does not always make the outside look real pretty but it does an awesome job getting into all of the little passages.
Depending on where you are located I would see if you could find someone that has a decent sized Ulatrasonic and just pay a few bucks to have it done. More and more machine shops are getting them for cleaning aluminum heads etc.
