IMO, you are missing it. The debate is whether or not Mexico paid for Trump's border wall. The fact is the American taxpayers paid for ~450 miles of the border wall. Most of which was replacement of old wall. President Biden signed an executive order to stop construction. Hopefully, that will be the end of the great wall.

That's not what I read. The factcheck article said the USMCA is pretty much the same as the NAFTA agreement. The benefits are a wash. Even if the USMCA generates more money for the US that doesn't mean it came out of Mexico's pocket. It just means both sides benefited.
