oh man have tried a bunch...5.5lbs. pressure, holes in butterflies, leaned idle air bleads a couple, jetting is in reason. floats just below sight plug. maybe could lower? plugs r cleaner after a non stop tour...

Yes, idle feed restrictions could be a bit large. Did you plug the secondary P.V. and go up 5 or 6 numbers? How much base timing, and total?

Do you have a power valve in the carb or is it blocked off ?

950 holley HP. nice carb..... 3.5 pv, timing @ 18 inital/35 total. (pump gas)

You said 8 inches of vacuum at idle. Was the car in drive or in park when checked ? I always adjust the carb, idle mixture vacuum etc. in drive. Being in park raises the rpm and vacuum readings. Just checking because if overlooked it will not be an optimized setting of the carb. Good luck.

idle fuel bleeds? theres idle air jets that ive gone up #75 tp 78...yes slick5681 did vacume check proceedures in drive...

thankyou everyone for all you help. best i can measure today is .090'' on the idle feed restrictor....this restrictor i was unaware of, therefore its factory size and untouched.
