How large is the advantage of a radial to a Bias Ply? I know of all the advantages of a Radial tire but in reality how big is the gap especially on a slow U/SA? I know its rare to see an Auto car with slicks nowadays..... How large is the gap in ET/Speed? Can you still win a National or Division on Bias Plys are they consistent enough to compete at a high level?

Worth at least a tenth to twelve hundreds on my N/SA Mustang. I guess a lot would depend on how high air pressure you can get away with in your bias tires.

I found about a tenth with a lot of that in the 60'. Also helped reaction times a bit, less wrap up.

I went 2.43 under with the bias ply slicks and was afraid to run the radial.

We had them on the truck testing and radials were quicker and faster, but only hooked 20% of the time. Maybe with some work it could be a player

Tried them on our Nova off and on. Never figured out how to consistently hook. Encouraging but in hot track conditions we didn’t have it figured out. Someday maybe we will. Interesting idea. There is an A/Stick car running them all of the time. Not sure if you can say it is quicker ,but credit to him for getting the car down the track most of the time.

The more time your car spends on the track the more they are worth.
