327 /365 has too much difference to base a comparison off of .

I don't know how far under you want to go , Jim, but I'm standing by my observation, using my formula that has been pretty accurate over the years.
Mark we would like too run .050 under in race mode . 6/7 under in go faster.the 327 275 i worker on struggled to make 400. this was with old school, but have not ran a AFB carb. so not sure .

Jim, the trick is getting a cam into those things and max compression. My one and only attempt didn't do so well.
Anyway , the AFB deal should fall between the 4 GC and the Q-jet. We know that much .
Other than that, I'd have to look at one closely, with the newer rules, and I just haven't.
As mentioned , Jim Lewis would know the deal on them. I don't bother people at work, that do this stuff for a living, though. I haven't seen the ol' boy at the races in a while.

Jim, we know what good 327-275's make so what we're looking at is....

-the difference between a good AFB and a good QJet
-what (if any) difference there is in the cam (.399/.399 on the 300 & .390/.410 on the 275)
-what (if any) difference there is in a good AFB intake compared to a good Qjet intake

The 327/300 @ 265 isn't horrible. But the 327/250 is the same engine (except for the 4G) and intake and it's @ 245. I don't see the AFB covering the 20 hp difference, even with the intake being a bit better on the AFB.....given the current state of Stocker intake technology.

But .60-.70 under should be no problem for a decent 327/300, though. -Al

Yes...not sure what body style Jim is referencing, though. The valve notches are the struggle, for sure. -Al

I was hoping so! That car has so much race heritage and many, many wins...it will be great to have back in action in our area. -Al
