There were a dozen or more of those cars in Div 4 back then. Do you know the color(s)?
Teuton, Caro, Hale, Gibbs, Robillard,...….. This one..... http://www.garlandmotorsports.com/65-super-stock.html |

Who raced it at the 73 Gators? That would be a big clue. Last edited by Tom P; 01-09-2020 at 01:04 AM. |

Seems like Bud Spears ran a red 65 Dodge normally SS/CA. I think he was division 4.

Albert Simien a bricklayer in Lake Charles (did my house in 2004) back in the day was the 2nd owner (??) of the Texas Rattler. I have pictures of that car at Houston in late 60s or early 70's, somewhere in a box. Phish

There was a red 65 Dodge at the national event in Dallas I believe in 1985.
I saw it again a couple more times but I can’t remember where. I have a photo of it somewhere. The guys name on the car was Wolf. From Duncan, Okla. Painted on the doors was an elephant called the “Pachyderm Express.” I remember one of the front fenders had a hole in the top of the fender. I don’t remember which one. The car needed some love and some updates. Back in those days I graded everything against the Gibbs and Caro cars. There were a lot of them I have not seen. I spent more time with the Gibbs car at Easttex Raceway. The body on this car from Duncan sat higher over the rear tires than the other cars of that period. Also it’s performance was no where near the other guys. I will never forget on the lip of the truck lid was written something to the effect, “There’s not a part made this car can’t break.” |
