Back on page 2 of this post when I said lower them by 5 tenths I meant lower the amount under the index by 5 tenths (to .70 under) instead of 1.20 under gets you automatic HP and a free trip to the tear down barn !

No, it wouldn't, unless the AHFS is/was in affect for ALL races. The #1 Qualifier at Indy in 2018 went 2.01 under and has NEVER been factored. The same car just (JUST) qualified #1 at Earlville.
Now, I'm not faulting the man that built it, IMHO, he's one of the smartest men in this sport. But I will fault the system. NHRA needs to have people in place that understand engines and combos. Until they do, it's all just a joke and a "buddy's club".

the AHFS has flaws. It does not consider the person who puts a combo together and runs it , how ever it runs. Then you have the person that puts the same combo together and works on it all the time because he does not want to get beat heads up. So for the person who works his butt off his reward is NHRA slowing him down. Yes there are under factored cars, What we need is someone with common sense to know when one is under factored or not.

What we need is someone who knows when a combo has been "manipulated/ enhanced" and has the balls to toss it.
