Well, the trouble I see with just whacking the indexes is that as NHRA continues to "liberalize" the rules (through action or/and enforcement) certain combos (I'm guessing the majority) keep getting left further and further behind. If the Racers running these "good" combos don't want to keep getting hit with HP then SOMEBODY (NHRA or the Racers) should figure out a way to legitimately get HP help to combos that need it without having to request it only to get 1-2 HP at a time AND eliminate the "baggers".
I also believe that NHRA should stop with all of the different "body combos" factoring. AAAAANNNNNDDDDD, if a Racer triggers an automatic hit OR a review, he comes apart.

AAAAANNNNNDDDDD another thing that would straighten things out in a hurry, if you trigger a hit, then your engine is For Sale to the highest bidder, call it a Claimer, bring tools to take it out. Don't want to sell your engine? Go home for the rest of the year.
P.S., I didn't say I like this idea, I said that it would straighten things out in a hurry.

Im confused about this thread. A engine combo goes fast enough to earn HP, and now people want to move index or trigger number? I thought this was a performance class and if a motor is fast and legal then it needs HP. I get it that it was uncalled for due to red light run or driver lifted and still triggered review, but come on if it needs HP it needs HP. I would be upset if my combo received HP but I knew the game when I started. Take the hit and move on.

Do we believe that everyone let it fly at Indy, or did some racers still hold back?

How sad we continue to argue
We are the consumer here We continue to race under foolish rules and then fight with each other over those rules The factoring system doesn't work and has never worked When we work together it will work better when we allow our selves to be divided we will never get what we want or deserve..... When we give them money it seems to me we should get what we want Am i missing something On another note Billy Harper is a fine gentleman and he should get to play fully as he sees fit He worked hard and spent the money....
