Here it is...……
From 2019 NHRA Rulebook Section 11A, page 3 CARBURETOR Must be correct year, make, and model specified for car’s engine; fuel or air bleed passages may be resized. Drilling idle holes in primary throttle blades permitted. Other modifications prohibited. Sandblasting, grinding, flash removal, dry film coating, or any other modification to carburetors prohibited. Replacement carburetors permitted provided they are same model, type, throttle bore, and venturi size. Computer carburetors use latest model non-computer carb for engine application. It also doesn't say that you can poke a sharp stick in your eye.... Unless it states that it's allowed, it isn't... PS: This is also the rule for Super Stock....

What you are looking at are the "rules" for SS/Truck, FWD SS and Super mod and Comp. Go back and read the WHOLE thing .....SLOWLY.....

Other modifications prohibited. Third sentence in stock carburetors in current rule book. For me a 50 cc Reo pump would be great but not allowed, a metering plate change in the end carbs would be great, but not allowed. An inch spacer would be great but not...........

I have learned something today. There are some threads that should have never been started.
I agree the rule book is clear that you can't remove the choke plate in stock. I was merely trying to understand the carb section in the accepted products document The way I read it, the carb notes that start on page 62, that for stock, SS, SSGT, SSGT truck various mods are listed, including removing the choke plate. Looking at the rule book for SS and Comp, I don't see anything on carbs at all except they do refer you back to lower classes. In any event my carb will have the choke plate intact, and if any of the nhra tech auxiliary would like to come by at a divisional, please do.

From the 2019 NHRA Rulebook....
Another key to understanding the NHRA Rulebook is that certain classes “build” from another. When the Rulebook states “Requirements and Specifications for … are the same as those for ...” you must read the referenced section first. If after reading the Rulebook you still have questions, consult page xiv for hours and phone numbers where tech personnel may be reached. These phone lines are extremely busy, so prepare your questions in advance. Remember, it is your responsibility to follow the standards in this Rulebook that pertain to your vehicle AND SECTION 12 SUPER STOCK Requirements and specifications for all Super Stock categories are the same as those for Stock Cars - Section 10A - with the following exceptions: PS: You got some bad and incorrect info from some of the people who responded to your post. It is your responsibility to make your racecar legal. My suggestion would be for you to read the rulebook completely starting at page 1 to help you better understand the process.

And IMHO, the rulebook is intentionally vague and confusing...
