Probably not going "bad", but updates in safety/construction would be my guess. Look at how the older helmets didn't have the "cheek supports" and would roll around on your noggin if you shook your head.

The way it is set up it could be for as little as 7 years or as many as 12..

So if you needed a helmet in 2014, all you could buy was a 2010 cert.

Buy a Simpson full face. If your face ever hits that steering wheel your teeth will thank ya. BTW they one of a very few companies that show up to the races and support us. Good people and a great product.

Knowing my helmet would run out next year I went ahead and bought a Simpson last month because I didn’t want to run into back orders etc. it is an SA 2020 and I have already gotten paid for it. that was the only company I saw Paying Contingency at a divisional level
