Thank you. Stock or super stock for this 1985 mustang which is the better way to go as far as competition cost performance and expense.

What is your budget? There are more 85 GT stockers than traditional SS cars in competition. A stocker 4-5 speed vs a SS 4-5 speed clutchless will have a cost difference. A set of legal SS heads will be no less than 6K and more if you use the replacement aluminum head.

I’m definitely leaning towards ss I have specific questions about the motor what intake manifold are they using stock ford or what aftermarket intake is available are most using a stock carb or Holley aftermarket.

Definitely not using a stock Ford intake for Super Stock.
A lot of super stock guys use custom made sheet metal intakes, but there are several single plane intakes available as well. Any carb is going to have to be massaged by someone This is just my opinion, but if you start with a new quick fuel or a Holley 600, I think you would end up about the same place performance wise.
