How much gear oil are you all running in your Dana 60s?
I think stock capacity is 2.75 quarts. I have been running two quarts and have been wondering if others have had good luck with less. I am not talking about one heads up run but for the whole season. Thanks, Bill Lamb |

I run 2 qts of synthetic in my Dana. I have also tried 1 qt with no difference in performance.

I agree with Mike, 2 qts. of synthetic gear oil. The AMX had a lot of runs on the previous gear set, with Royal Purple gear oil in it. The gears came out looking perfect, and are in the trailer as a spare set.

I've safely run 1 1/2 qts for years in my Javelin and the Willys with Dana 60's .
I've used 75w/140 synthetics in them with no gear or bearing wear over thousands of runs over the years.. Any brand with similar viscosity ratings and GL5 rating should perform the same.
