Default lifter clearance

I have roller lifters in sb chev 350, they seam looser than I remember , just got back from machine shop and he said he honed them because of some scratches .they are brass , how much clearance is okay ? Mike

Scratches would not have hurt anything if they are brass or bronze busing but having to much clearance in not good thing either. Lifters like a controlled environment. as posted .0015 to .002 should be where they should be at.
