They were gone after 1960 in Pontiacs.
You could ask Denny Ford or Aubrey Bruneau about the Chevys.
I don't see where they would be a big problem in today's Stock Eliminator world.

Mark,
Do you remember Don Scinto`s Pontiac wagon?
I only heard stories. Ran Super Stock, because you could change the small cam out of the low HP 389?
Perhaps you could elaborate
MJ

1958 to 1964 were the X bodies.
1965 to 1976 got the larger H-Body

1977 to 1996 GM stayed with the 1964 GTO/Chevelle chassis design.
Malibu's became Impala/Caprice//Bonneville/Roadmaster/Caddy/Olds
The Wagons had the Boxed Frames.
Police Packages got the all the Chassis attach points bolted.

Don`t recall what it had to weigh in at, but 15-20 years ago, Jeff Davidson raced a early 70s Olsmobile Vista Cruiser station wagon here in Div.6, in SS/MA. To run that low of a class designation with a 455 cube engine , she had to be rather porky!
