I had a similar situation, some years ago, involving a deposit made on a car that didn't exist. After a few months of foolishness, the involvement of a police officer who wasn't amused helped grease the skids and get it resolved. Documentation, including names, dates, figures and facts, is your friend.

What ever happened to Man Law. You give a man your word and you stand by it. Eye contact and a Hand Shake is as good as any contract. We are talking a grown man, or suppose to be a grown man acting like that. Dang Shame..

Unfortunately, the people in jail only teach people like him more about ripping off people. Jail is just a temporary inconvenience.

I agree, but jail time lets the world, your family, your friends, your neighbors, your community and fellow racers know the truth about who you really are.

If he's anything like my brother-in-law (wrote about him a page or two back), he'll justify it to himself, won't think that people will think ill of him, and continue on with life personally unchanged.
