I think 9.70s in good air would be possible these days for sure. There were a few A/B cars at indy that would have been in the 9.90s at 8.25 lb/hp, not to mention Jason Line in C - it would be fun to see his car in top stock!

Out of all of the cars at this past Indy Nats, IMHO Jason's was the most impressive..a bad fast Buick.
