Not completely on the subject, but the best line I ever herd about installing headers on a street 428 CJ Mustang. " I cried three times before they were on"

Larry, I have owned 3 69-70 428 CJ Mustangs, and 2 69 428CJ Fairlane Cobras, I don`t recall ever crying when doing the headers (or exhaust manifolds), but plenty of sweating, swearing, and bleeding!!

The nice thing about putting header bolts in an FE head in a Mustang chassis is that good eyesight is not required, all bolts are fitted via Braille...

I guess some might consider that a "nice " thing Jim! And when you drop any of the header bolts, 9 times out of 10 they don`t make it to the floor.

I think I have done at least 6-7 sets, once you memorize the wrench, socket, extension, from top or bottom and what sequence it gets easier! |
