Russ, I was able to use the same converter on both transmissions, 99% of the time.
I worked with Scott McClay a bit on this. You can get enough spline engagement on both splines. I would just cut the lock up nub off the input shaft. The 245 mm's are even easier, because the sprag race is relatively narrow.
