Ours made 466HP @ 5500 and 510lb-ft on armstrongs, with a cam about 15 years old. And yes, the 287 intake is f***ing horrible lol

We made 535 in my Corvette 454/365 5 years ago with a stock block and factory crank. Tons of torque down low. A new one with all the bells and whistles should fly.

Got a very similar combo for sale if someone wants to try. 68 Corvette, 427/390 hp rated at 371 and YES, it has one of those fine intakes on it too. lol

This one will pretty much the same as your 5years ago.No fancy head work no 1200.0 rings, Just a good raceable engine that should run 5/8 tenths under. Mike what would a new one with all the bells and whistles cost? thanks

Jim, I've been out of the game. I'm not sure what this stuff costs anymore. I'm sure a 454/365 costs the same if not more than a high-compression deal being that you have to find a good set of heads and intake as you have to use the old steel stuff with that combo. The motor was close to 700 pounds if I remember correctly.

I would open this question up to the whole forum, if you have a A/SA 1969 Nova with a 375 HP 396 stick and it runs 135 MPH @ 3470 in a 29.00 baro, How much HP does this take?

With 245 CFM @ 28 inches it would have to make in the 530s for HP corrected STP. My Buick flowed 213 CFM @ peak lift and made 474 HP, theres no way that BBC intake manifold is worse than the Buicks.[/QUOTE What buick are you talking about? The 455 is way better than the 365/454 intake.
1971 Buick 455 403 intake, I've done extensive flow testing and dyno testing with this intake bolted to my 661/149 455 heads. I've also tested the 1970 low rise BBC intake on the dyno and flow bench, this intake unmodified made 532 HP on my 9.3 compression 467 with a 228 @ .050 cam with ported peanut port heads. I feel the the BBC intake has more cross section which shows by the feet per second.
