So, Tim Banning (FHO) says I CAN use motor mounts if I want, but in his experience people find it easier to use a front engine plate due to ease of installation, strengthening the front end, more clearance for oil pump, and easy mounting of water pump, air pump, etc. Also said that it would be easier to move the engine slightly forward if need be, since I will be using a Mopar cross ram, and clearance will be tight. Not sure which way I should go.

If people reading here have a A-body hemi, and wouldn't mind posting photos of how their engine is set up in the engine bay (or have any advice), I would certainly appreciate the help!

That may be Jerry Nowacki, or right after Jerry sold the car. Ex-Dick Oldfield.

You sir are correct..... (applause)

Guessing with the name removed from the door it is a "post sale" picture. Any idea who was the buyer?

This is Jerry Nowacki. Was told by a friend my former 68 Hemi Dart was here. Based on what I've read I'm going to answer some questions. Yes, this was Dick Oldfields original 68. Yes, he sold to Don Knight. And I did purchase the Dart from DK for $3300 including a single axle trailer. Yes if only foresight was as powerful as hindsight ! I raced the car for a half season the way I purchased from DK. As you all may know the SS/AA record at that time was 10:33 @131 mph. The best I could do was 10:70's @128. The following winter I took the car to Ramchargers and had them redo the engine and tranny and look the car over.. The following season came and the ET's stayed about the same. The car just didn't hook up. I spoke to everyone I could in search of THE SECRET to making this car work. I spoke with Ron Mancini and Jim DeFrank and they told me I had the same combo they had..Then I met Akron Arlen and took the car to him to narrow the rear end and install the super trick wheels..Still no luck getting the car to hook. Best time with the Dart was 10:56 @130. Still not good enough to catch the Chevy's I had to give a 2-3 seconds handicap. Oh there was ONE Time at a points meet the car hooked and wheeled. Would you believe the high gear planetaries froze up and I never got into high gear. Arghh. No doubt would have been in the low 10 range. Sold the car to Carl Horn and never looked back. Heard Carl put a stick in the car and raced B modified. Don't know his end result. The following season I purchased a 67 Camaro SS/KA rag top from Dave Colbert. The car hooked. I cut good lights and went to the pay window most every week. There's a bit more to my story however, I'll end it here. Btw Dick Oldfield found the Dart a few years back. Still white and it resides in Minnesota as a bracket car.
