Erik, are you posing that question out of curiosity, or as a precursor to a line of ridicule? I would hope that any member of this forum would receive an equal level of respect, regardless of the numbers on his time slip.

Maybe the question should be "how many wicked fast engines have you built lately"?

Gary , I don't speak for Billy .
Anyone who knows him, realizes that's not necessary.
However, I'd guess he'd reply.."As many as I wanted to..Why do you ask ?"

Just trying be be entertained..lol.....I know that Erik builds some nice stuff.
I've never met Billy. If I did, I don't recall. I'm sure he knows what he is talking about. No offense intended towards anyone. And no, I've never run a 340......383 and 440's only. I'll sit down and shut up.

Love Mike Delahanty's pics from the "Live from.." thread with three underhood shots including a small towel over the manifold numbers. Looks like a good approach to me...

How is 'who built what, who is how fast, and who runs what combo' in any way relevant to the issue at hand?

Did the LD340 come on the 340's in question? Answer: No.

End of story.

Come on Chrysler guys, you can say it! S.T.O.C.K. E.L.I.M.I.N.A.T.O.R.

Billy - I get the fact that you're trying very hard to change the direction that Stock eliminator is headed and I agree with some of what you're saying .But eliminating that manifold isn't going to change anything except how YOU feel about it .And lets face facts - I'm not aware of you having any skin in that game and you're pissing off many who do .It should be up to the competitors in D-E-F-G-H to complain to the NHRA .And I'm sure there are plenty of Chevrolet and Ford combos that fit in those classes .

Jack, if the addition of this or any intake manifold or aftermarket part can affect the performance of a combo, it can affect where and how that car qualifies. That means that it can affect where and how I qualify. It also affects who I race, when I race and the outcome of the race. Same deal as if a completely illegal car makes it onto a Q-sheet. Where I'm going with this is if I have to qualify against a combo, then I've got "skin in the game".
And when have you ever known me to be afraid of pissing some people off?

I have to disagree with you there, Jack. The continual erosion of standards affects everybody who races the category and contributes to the demise of Stock Eliminator. All of these arguments that people throw out like "look at all the other stuff that is wrong" or "it doesn't matter since it doesn't help performance" are either excuses for not being willing to stand up for what is right or they are from people who don't care if they cheat or not. There is already enough bogus stuff in the specs and replacement parts category that has become the mainstream that it will be virtually impossible in the current venue to correct, so adding to the list doesn't help anybody. If a spectator looks under the hood of a Stock Eliminator car, it should not look like a bracket racer's engine or a Super Stock engine. When Stock Eliminator becomes so diluted from the original definition that it is not discernable from other categories of racing, then it will be absorbed, eliminated or meaningless. If anything, it would help to move back to originality, to production specs and accurate policing so that there is a more unique identity to market.
