Cool 1/4 mile

so lets pretend I own a major sanctioning drag race body and moved to a
new headquarters new city 1st class facility and the first race a disapointing
1/8 mile now how would you expect to put people in the seats. drag racing
non-scripted 1/4 mile racing. you can see how well arena football is, at my
Hq of operations all race's are 1/4 mile and make it worth the drive

my 2 cents

then that would be the only race in that division that is 1/4 mile, all of the others are 1/8. doesn't sound like a big deal but being a .90 racer, it is a totally different set up on my car to run 1/8 versus 1/4 and the week before is an 1/8 mile as well, I understand what you are saying but I see the other side as well. I prefer 1/4 mile racing but would rather run them both 1/8 than have to switch my setup. just my .02

Red face Re: 1/4 mile

I was promised by that Divisions director that there would be two 1/4 races in that division this year. That was before they lost two 1/4 mile tracks. The OP however is correct, that race needs to be 1/4 mile! Jim

Actually there are no more Divisions and two of the first 5 races on the schedule are 1/4 mile. Jim

Here in Florida most of the tracks have been IHRA for several years and 1/8th mile racing has been the norm here. Given that fact I actually prefer to race 1/8th mile now. It is easier on parts and I feel it makes you a better driver. You have to make your decisions very quickly on the finish line and the dial in better be on the money. With NHRA getting Orlando, SGMP and Bradenton back under their banner there will be more 1/4th mile racing again down here.
