I'm not sure of the outcome statistics nor am I complaining about the rules of these races. My point is that these races are more of a change of pace type of deal to go have some fun and since it is hard to draw 30-40 super stockers and 30-40 stockers my guess is that is the reason combos were created in the first place. From a purely objective stance, super stockers have the upper hand if they are allowed more mods and driver aids.

Out here it changed enough to drive some away.
Full on bracket cars were allowed as long as they could figure a class (tongue in cheek) to run in. Can dial over the index.- so GT class but just slow Progress - I think not - they have a bracket to run in but if you are a favorite son (or grandson in this case) its OK. It really makes it hard to see why they call it stock/super stock. IMHO Ron

I am usually in charge of the ladder and help collect money, if needed. All the cars/ trucks run pretty much where they usually do, so no funny business by anyone. They are meant to be fun and everyone seems to have a great time.

A/FX is a legal class within Nostalgia/SS. Much the same way GT/AA, A/SA, SS/AS, FS/C etc etc are legal classes within S/SS. Nost/SS cars are welcome to run with our series/races. Much like traditional S/SS cars.
Bottom line: that A/FX car was as legit and legal to compete in the race as the other sixty-some cars on the property on Sunday.

When you look in the dictionary under snobby NHRA class racers you know who you will find. Talking about the pot calling the kettle black. You're right they did go too far when they allowed factory race cars in stock/ superstock.

BTW, a bit off topic, but I see this same footbrake vs. transbrake issue being a challenge for NMCA in attracting car count for its new STK/SS Combo in 2017.

EDIT: In regards to the footbrake/transbrake/delay box part of this discussion, Bremerton Raceway out here runs a John Kilroy Footbrake Challenge every year and the turnout is great. 75 cars last race. Stock, Super Stock, Pro ET and Super Street cars all ran under foot brake rules. Great fun. My observation has been that S/SS is more of a combination of race car and racer thing. Rules and classification details are very important to these folks and they respect the sport more than most would expect. I built my Mustang for GT/ but didn't get it right so I just ran bracket for the first year rather than mess with this turf. I'm working to fix that now.
