Re: F-body short trailing arms, Pete Z bars and etc...
We are actually building a SWING ARM car with our 2002 camaro with the LS2 for Super Stock. It incorporates the torque arm but we added another side. We extended it further than I have seen any other torque arm extend in the chassis. Its like a four link set up with all the numbers done for you through the location of the arms. The best part is we didnt have to hack the car apart and worry about the chassis not passing. And any tire clearence is easy as we have done it in the pass with customers cars and made 8:80 passes on a true 10.5 tire. We are using the trailing arms, but I can say we did the geometry to make it work and the length of the trailing arm is VERY IMPORTANT!!!! With the engine placement in these cars, they already have no problems bring up the front end. In fact, we worked to slow it down so they would not be so violent on a hard launch.
