Re: 79 Mustang project U/SA
Well I got a little more done so i thought I would post it. I got the new rear end under the car and got the engine bay cleaned up and painted. Ready to install the K member and front suspension next. Also got the heads checked for cracks and off the the shop to get them done.

Re: 79 Mustang project U/SA
This is amazing..
U/SA National Record 12.94 seconds at 101.16 mph Set by BJ Graham in a 76 Ford in Tuscon, AZ Feb 21, 2016. R/SA and T/SA are at 13 flat by Briaine Philbrick 76 Monza and Don Lisell's 77 Caddy which is pretty damn good. But a 12 Second U/SA...wow !! Guess V/SA is next to figure out how to run a 12... Here is a prediction; All Mack will eventually find an 11sec ET in Q/SA. Dan |

Re: 79 Mustang project U/SA
Didn't a V/S (stick) Chevy truck with V6 run high 12's to be the #1 qualifier at Indy few years ago?
Will Lamprecht I/SA Impala still in progress, but close! |

We used the torch method too. Someone mentioned toasting marshmallows over the burning rubber until I said I wouldn't be taking them to their chemotherapy treatments if they did. |

Re: 79 Mustang project U/SA
Cool build you have going on there RobbieRacer. I enjoy reading up on your progress.
Years ago I had thought about building a '78 Fairmont boxtop with the 302 / C4 combo

The closest I ever came Dan as a Q car was a 12.36 in 2013, and that was my very first pass ever in NHRA Stock Eliminator. Too bad I did not back up that run or it would have been the record.

Re: 79 Mustang project U/SA
It's been a while but I getting things done. I got the front end back together and got the front brakes done. These are the rims I will be running but the tires are going away. I put the car on blocks so I have more room under it. Next project it welding in the sub frame connector's.
