Did Whittig have two Mustangs? Stock & super stock? Post 24 says it is now owned by Rusty Hall. Post 50 says it was a pro street car in the mid 80's.

The Mustang owned by Rusty Hall appears to be the Stocker, the Super Stocker was, I believe, owned by Doug Betteral, the S/S car was the one I seen as a Pro Street car in the 80s. Jeff Whittig also built a 68 Mustanng convertible for his brother, Dan. The convert has been owned by Aldon Miller in Idaho for many years.

The red and white 69 Mustang "Fireball" pictured belonged to Chris Sackett from Vancouver BC Canada. Chris bought the new, it was a yellow factory 428 Cobra Jet 4 speed GT. He turned it into a SS/G car in the early 70s, with 14,000 miles on the odometer. This photo was taken at the original Mission Raceway, likely around 1975 or so. Note the number on the windshield, I seem to recall NHRA used a weird index system for a couple of years at that time, never really understood how it worked or what it was based upon. Anybody remember how that index system worked?

Car counts suffered greatly..Same cars would win all the time. 1976 then had breakouts back for Divisionals, then by about 77, breakout racing was back in full. You were allowed to submit one dial under number before the start of eliminations. Shoe polish racing came to be within a few years after.
