Re: Mid Ga. Gas Prices
Up here in Ontario Canada we are currently paying .99 cents per litre, which is roughly $4.50 a gallon. Our gallon is however approx. 20 % larger than the US gal.

Re: Mid Ga. Gas Prices
As much as I don't like it for transportation, I think the energy solution is this:
1. Build enough nuclear electric power plants and have an excess of electricty. 2. When we have an excess of electricty, dissasociate water into hydrogen and oxygen. 3. Transportation uses hydrogen or electric powered vehicles. The big issue with nuclear power is spent nuclear waste. I've done some basic calcs, and if ALL of the total energy use from USA were nuclear, it would fill less than 100 tractor trailers per year of waste. I think we can handle this drawback to not be tied to the middle east for oil. I know it's not racing related, but related to this topic. |

Re: Mid Ga. Gas Prices
Hey Art, welcome to the south. This gas situation is going to have a bearing on a lot of traveling, whether it's racing or just vacations, and it's a shame, there isn't a thing we can do about it.

Re: Mid Ga. Gas Prices
I'm in Canada too and it's $1.11 for diesel....but only 77.9 for furnace oil...what do you think I use? LOL!
Yeah it has a slight red colour, but have you EVER heard of a pickup getting stopped and the fuel checked? Me neither. |

Re: Mid Ga. Gas Prices
There are 4 litres in an American gallon =$4.00 per US gallon here in Canada.
You don't get to deduct 20% from the price AND 20% from the volume. That's it for math 101

Re: Mid Ga. Gas Prices
Myron,
You said a mouth- full and are 100% correct...With everything going up 3-5 times, race purses have dropped 3-4 times..Something is wrong with this picture !!!!! Happy Thanksgiving everyone..
