We put our switch on the brake pedal. I really like it just from a comfort standpoint. If you look at the photo of the button on Rich Taylor's car, ours is just about in the same spot.

I have an adjustable brake pressure switch plumbed into the front brake line close to the master cylinder. I have a toggle switch to energize the circuit after the burnout. I have the switch adjusted to activate about a hundred psi less than the brake pressure that I stage with. So it takes a lot of pressure to activate the two step. If you get it to come on down track you are probably sliding the tires. Just my .02
