If you do decide to change the rear gear or entire rearend for that matter, a 4.56 with a 30" tire is still not enough gear. I believe you would be better suited with a 5.13 in the 8.8 or a 5.14 if you put a 9" rear in.

Last nights runs, best of 8.71. I got better with my burnouts,and the air was a little better. Also pickup one MPH. It made four passes at 8.77 back to back, short times moved down to low 1.8s

slick foot I ran stick shift car for 12 yrs with 8.8 rear all strange stuff never broke any thing in the rear end. For n you could use 513 & 28 inch tire you did not need 30 inch tires use stock COMPUTER with ford extender if you can find 1 need any help just call me maybe I can help JP1428 973 427 3673 IN NJ

If the timing is still @ 10 with the "spout" out, give 14 a try, assuming good gas.

You should get a hold of Ed Hohenberg, he has a great knowledge of the Ford factory computer, and what to use to hop it up on a budget.

anybody got ed's contact info? what kind of e.t.'s did you get out of your car with an extender and the gears?

Evan Smith might know how to contact Ed. John Presing ran in the 11.80 range, back in early 2000's, in L/S.
