Default Cam Timing

Working on the boys compact 2.2 Ecotec motor. Trying to check cam timing, without using adjustable gears, what would be better having the intake cam advanced 5 % with the exhast cam 5% retarded on a 110 centerline, intake is 105 exhast is115. Changing 1 tooth it goes 115 intake 105 exhast. RPM is 2500 to 7200. Have tried flipping bottom gear moving guides. Thanks Tom
