Default Mufflers

One of the two tracks near me requires mufflers in order to run the local bracket race. Any suggestions on mufflers that will have a minimal effect on the performance of a Stocker?

Thanks,

Greg

Question Re: Mufflers

Just a thought if you are bracket racing why should performance matter.

I`ve run the Dynomax Bullet mufflers and they didn`t slow down my V6 Stocker at all. Reasonably priced as well.

I run an X pipe with a pair of 2 chamber Flowmaster mufflers. Runs the same to the thou without the mufflers (add 20lbs weight to make up for the mufflers). All race cars should have mufflers......................including stock and super stock.

Smile Re: Mufflers

I had the 3 x 18 collector extensions on my Nova, and when my track asked us to go to mufflers the following season, I gabbed a pair of the Flowmaster Outlaw Race Mufflers (3 in.). They just dropped right inside the extensions and we ran a bead around them and bolted them right back on. The car didn't slow down, and while they might not be the quietest things around, I am in compliance. I see them in my current Jegs catalog. My 2 cents.

We sell a muffler just for this purpose. It's made by vibrant performance. It's about 6" long and doesn't really quiet anything. But it meets a track's requirement if all they require is that you have mufflers

Thanks to everyone for their responses. Perhaps I should have said "have a minimal effect on the tune up" instead of the performance. This gives me several options to choose from.
