Where were you two guys when I was asking for help?

I have asked 4th gen S/SS racers about their setups and pretty much received the brush off. I don't search for info on f body message boards. No real racers, which is why I posted here. As my sign on name implies, I'm not a kid. Just don't have 35 years experience.

30" inch tires, radius wheel wells, more gear for tires, converter. Based on the results from this past weekend, I believe I achieved my goal for about $300 in parts. Thankfully, I don't have to chase an ever descending index to remain competitive.

If chassis separation is an outmoded concept, then what is the current thinking for stock suspended cars?

If you would go to an NHRA race, and watch the faster F body cars run you would see. I went through all that before I had mine back halved. I don't think you will find many adjustable "LCA brackets" used. I took that crap right back off. If your making any power at all I think your going to need taller tires, or a very soft converter like the "outlaw radial " guys run.

Ed, thank you for your response. The fact is I'm not making any hp and don't anticipate that reality changing any time soon. I have a very modest bracket racing effort. My original post was from a year ago and updated only to show the resolution was suspension bind.

Ed, sorry for the crappy response. I think your lack of fast sixty foot times is the result of converter and gear ratio. the tires are too short for a serious effort. I have seen 305 f bodies go 1.42 sixties with less than 350 horsepower. I'm glad you found your problem and wish you good luck,Lee.
