You don't drink that, you strip paint with it. Tastes like kerosene. (Not that I make a habit out of drinking kerosene...) One sip was enough. I only drink a couple of times a year, and that's more often than naught Terry Knott's fault. I like the sweet stuff: Baileys w/ caramel is some good stuff.

Speaking of which, the Racer Appreciation Party will be BYOB (can't afford you guys!) but we'll provide the pop/soda/water. Working on sponsors for food and beverage... that'll determine how well you get fed. ;-)

As a gesture for everything you've done for class racing, I will make sure I pack an extra jar of apple pie

Off-topic, but just a reminder that we have our $5K-$20K-$5K Fall Footbrake Frenzy coming up Thanksgiving weekend at Piedmont Dragway in Greensboro, NC. No transbrakes. No 2steps except Stick cars. Air/electric shifters OK. Flyer available in the ClassRacer.com Bracket Racing section at http://classracer.com/classforum/showthread.php?t=49301

Also, we've just announced our 5th Annual St. Patrick's Classic, coming up March 14-16, 2014. The event moves to Virginia Motorsports Park next year, featuring competition in both Top ET/Super Pro and Footbrake, running for $5K-$10K-$5K. I imagine there is a lot of deep staging going there..
Just curious how the track /starter handles this.
Thanks

There's not as many as there used to be as people keep moving up to faster cars, but there's still a fair number. The starter can wait (within reason) to arm the AutoStart system, which eliminates any issues of people getting quick-treed (Deep) or timed out (Shallow). It's pretty standard at big money Footbrake races in general, and we haven't had any issues. NHRA Div. 1 Pro ET rules handle it differently, by simply running all pairs completely on Autostart, but with 1 second added to the 'Stage to Start' time, putting the impetus on the driver to get in on time.

(Before anyone asks, there is no deep staging at the Class Nationals, keeping with both NHRA & IHRA S/SS rules)

We'll be on the road first thing in the morning for our Thanksgiving $20K Footbrake race in North Carolina, so on behalf of my Loose Rocker Promotions partner Anthony Walton and I, we would like to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving! It's been a little over a year since this project went from a dream of many years into the first public planning stages, right here on ClassRacer. As with any large-scale project, those plans have undergone many stages of refinement in the past year. With the help of a number of folks throughout the S/SS community, we have built a massive program dedicated to rewarding the racers, giving the recognition they deserve, but most of all an incredibly FUN event just for Stock and Super Stock racers!

We've distributed nearly 1,000 flyers, reaching racers from coast to coast, along with hundreds and hundreds of promotional decals.... the total of all the race payouts, cash, prizes, contingency now totals over $85,000... and we're not done yet! We'll see a bunch of you at the PRI show in just a couple of weeks.

In the meantime, so you don't have to hunt through a year's worth of posts to find out the latest and great on the Auto Meter Northern Class Nationals, just go to www.looserocker.com for the most recent flyer.

That's a lot of readin', so grab the PDF version so you can read all the fine print and details from our incredible bunch of sponsors! http://www.looserocker.com/ncn/class_nats14.pdf

If you're a Facebooker, don't forget to hit "LIKE" on www.facebook.com/LooseRocker for instant access to announcements as they happen!
