Default Racing 05 Hemi Magnum

I'm looking to make our family car a little quicker. It's a 05 Dodge magnum RT 5.7 Hemi with 117,000 miles and rwd.

Does anyone here have experience with these cars?

As a baseline, I'd like to make these assumptions:

Use stock computer
Maintain street drive ability with AC, power brakes, power steering etc.
Stock driveline and street tires
Something to take on Hotrod power tour
Pump gas or E85

My basic idea is to turbo or supercharge it and limit boost in first/second gear to make drivetrain live.

My 06 magnum with a diablo turner and a wet nitrous system (scratch built) runs 13.0 on motor and 11.80 on 150 shot. Stock everything. They like a converter in them. 24-2600 and still very streetable. I have 143k and 15 bottles of nitrous (4 passes on a bottle) easily and no issues.

Chris, I run my truck with all the above. BTW, its nice to turn on the AC on coming down the return road lol.

Keep the boost limited to 6 psi or you might break a ring land or 2, don't go into part throttle boost, you'll need a boost referenced fuel pressure regulator to adjust your a/f's and don't use E85 with the factory pcm or you'll run lean unless to got the pedal to the rug and thats where the adjustable FP regulator comes into play.

Thanks for all the replies.

What is your recommendation for forced induction?

I'm leaning toward a centrifugal supercharger for simplicity and cost vs a roots/screw supercharger or turbo. I'm not a big fan of nitrous unles I'm at the dentist.

Is the Diablo the tuner of choice?

What is the centrifugal supercharger of choice? I'd like it to be tune able and the goal 120 mph is 1/4 mile.

I run a 2.8 Kenne Bell on a 419 stroker in a challenger . its my daily driver and runs 10.5s.

yes Diablo is the brand of choice. they have several tools available for tuning. the predator, intune or trinity. end users can only do so much with the tuning. once you add a blower and other major mods you will need a CMR tune.

Procharger is probably the centrifugal blower of choice.

Hey chris these guys did a couple of late hemi blower installs as I recall
here is one of them, they also did a magnum police car with a centrifical unit you can search for.

unfortunately due to my slow rate of recovery, I have way too much weekend time on my hands so I find myself watching these hokey car shows, although this one was sort of near and dear to me, since for several years they used my Mustang doing a burn out at Norwalk for their opening, flame enhanced some, but still unmistakeably my car. Long time starJoe Elmore is sort of a friend, a Ford guy, and a BIG S/SS/ Top Stock fan.
