Really?

I think you should maybe read a few pages back in the thread explaining why he showed up.

lets just say (as I don't know AND either do you) that he had cooked 3rd in his transmission and was slipping in drive?
Or had a spring that lost a bunch of seat pressure? Ok at 4000rpm but not 7500

Was he in contention for the championship in Stock? Just because a couple of people, in a lack of judgement, brought up old news not pertaining to this thread, doesn't mean it is relevant to the thread. What happened with Don and Charlie had no bearing on how the World Championship was decided. What happened between them is none of our business. The fact remains, that regardless of the BS stories circulating, somebody laid down and it decided a points battle. The video I watched was less than convincing. A cheese champion is what we have for 2013. They can talk all their stuff about what happened, but in truth, it was a case of laying down to help a guy. Now that this has set a precedent, if a Div 3 racer has been out early and had done well, maybe we should lay down for him as this seems acceptable? Cheese Champions I say.

Would you chance blowing up a high dollar 427 to look good?
Yeah. We tried that once. I think the bill was close to $7K, and it put us way behind on our development curve. For all intents and purposes, destroying that engine pretty much killed almost all of that year. We tried to crank out a replacement real quick, twice, only to have a lot of problems we should not have had.

Almost 66,000 hits ago, this thread was started about LAS VEGAS.

As Alan Reinhart always says, this is a right place and right time kind of sport.

In the last two years of racing,I have not had three people redlight against me,so I was curious as to how somebody could get so lucky as to have 3 redlights in a row (two of them rolled the beams)into a bye run to seal the World Championship in Stock.

Then,on top of that,a win in Super Stock on a bye run.

With luck this good,I would have left the race track as quickly as possible and headed to the Strip.

Much more money to be won at the tables or slot machines than messing with Drag Racing, that is for sure.

Steve,

You are absolutely correct about lots of BS stories floating around.

So why are you trying to help propagate one? I don't think you see the irony in your comments.
Do you have irrevocable proof that someone laid down?
Just to be fair; what I have stated is just my opinion based mostly on what I have read on this thread. I don't have all the facts and either do you.
90% of this thread is conjecture.

Yeah I had read that. I just I don't think I would have drove my car like that. As a matter I know I wouldn't have same thing happened to me last year and I didn't go back for the final. Not worth taking the chance of doing more damage than may have already been done. Like I have already said only a few people know what happened so everything in this thread is speculation.I have my opinion and you have yours, its all good.

Bill, I know that this stinks like nobodies constitutional. I know better than a stinky port a john at the track, that this was a stinky lay down deal. I have watched Lambeck over the years and what he did was not like anything that I have seen before from him. If his car was hurt so bad that he couldn't make a pass or even do a burnout, then why bother? Disregard any BS that he forgot to flip a switch or whatever. If you go up and don't burn the the tires, then Lamb should know that something is not right. This was a pre arranged deal. If not, then why did Lamb wait on his every move? Reminds me of B movies, lots of bad acting and monsters always show up in the plot line. Drew could have been the Champ had somebody laid down along the way. Nobody did and he finished second. Charlie wasn't a factor at this point. To bring up some stuff that happened months ago, between a Stocker and a SC'er was, at best, bush league. To think, that we have to stoop so low and comment on that situation (you know who you are), that had nothing to do with final points, is disturbing. Lamb is the Champ. Drew is the runner up. It is the way that it is. Like it or not. Having blockers is one thing. Throwing a round as a multi time champion is another thing that just doesn't add up. There are just better ways to do this without drawing attention to yourself and drawing the ire of your competitors.
