The Banning and Slaughter car pictured is an original car ,there was a twin built that was a non factory car , now painted red and yellow sponsored by napa auto parts , and last I heard was owned and raced by Jim Hale ,possibly with a GT combo .

It's a damn shame he decided to modify an uncut original car. It was so original that Chrysler (Chrysler Historical Society?) wanted to buy it from him but he declined. Bad move, in my opinion, for Chrysler would'be paid top dollar for the car and with that money George could've built a clone and bought several Ray Barton Hemi engines for what he would have gotten money-wise from the sale. More important than that, an uncut original car, a rare piece of automotive history, would've been preserved.

Here's a photo I took of George in the pits at Raceway Park in the mid-1990s along with similar comments in a post I made in the Hemi Dart thread back in 2009:

I haven't seen or spoke to George since the 1990s. I have no idea if he's still racing or not.

Was talking with George today at a swap meet on Long Island. Still in great shape and sharp as a tack

Hey guys.gonna need some help in the next few months we bought a bo29 car and we are trying to get it restored for next summer possibly carlyle. The car we bought is the only 4 speed sold new in canada lt ls no 73 on the original owners list.Just pulled out of the garage after a 32 year rest.First question is does any one sell the motor mounts that are welded to the k member as they were cut off in favour of ears.I know kramer sells a complete k member.Next there doesnt seem to be a normal a body bulkhead connector on the fire wall the wires just go through the sqaure hole in the fire wall is this normal. Not sure if this is true but as far as i know all 67 to 69 barracudas have a chrome strip on the tops of the doors and they have holes for the clips our car has no holes .So i assume true bo29 cars have no moulding on top of the doors.A good way to identify real cars in the old photos. Thanks Dan ps more questions to come.

Dan
First off, congrats on your purchase. I've heard of that car, but never saw it, or pix of it. Think you could post a few here? I have a good friend in Wisconsin that can probably help you out with mounts, as I gave him an uncut original A Body Hemi K Member to take measurements from for reproductions of the complete K member or just the mounts. If your interested, pm me. I'll give you contact info.
The bulkhead connector on firewall is the same as all production cars.
If your talking about the chrome drip rail moulding on the roof of the car??, no, none of the LO or BO cars had this chrome moulding as far as I'm aware.

Ask away as many questions as you need. We'll try & misquide you to the best of our ability

If you are referring to the chrome on the top of the door itself ,no. Original BO doors have no chrome trim on top .

Smile Re: Original Hemi Cuda Info.......

Good morning Gang,
Regarding the "guess who the driver is", I'll take a shot and say Judy Lilly.
Back in the day, her Cuda was the only one(I think, not 100% sure) that MPC produced a model car for. They sold back then for $1.50/ $2.00.
Find one now with the original shrink wrap still attached, and you're looking at 6-800 dollar range.
If I'm correct, do I get a prize? LOL
God Bless,
Walt
