I believe it's an aluminum replica body, but that doesn't mean it was inexpensive -

Beautiful workmanship!

They never ran Super /Stock...right? Then they should be in Modified/Sports just like in the 60's. Just looks jacked up in Super/Stock. MHO

The only controversy about this car is "why did it take so long for one to be built?" It's been in the guide forever and aluminum body replica's and frames have been available for several decades. As I recall they had an almost exact reproduction being built in Poland or some other eastern-bloc country for awhile and even here in the USA by some company named Shelby in Las Vegas, NV. Shelby will build it in fiberglass or aluminum as part of their "Continuation Series". In fact, now that I mention it, since Shelby does make a fiberglass version, that may allow NHRA to accept either material but I'm sure that aluminum is a lot lighter for a competitive class car build.
The 352 is a great engine to install in that car. But boy, I'd love to see a vintage 4 weber 289 or maybe even a SO 427!
After "seeing the light" I expect Mr. Stock won't have the only one. The roadster concept is a proven way to win rounds. I say way to go on diversity!

its funny what a little afternoon reading will do for the ride home. I was following a Pontiac Solstice last night and was thinking of big tires, wheelie bars and one of the naturally aspirated copo engines.....and that got me thinking of putting the 396 in my super stocker....and then i passed the local pizza joint...got hungry and forgot all about what the hell i was thinking about! Good thing too, cause it was starting to sound expensive.

:-)

oh ya, i like the cobra!

I think this is one of the coolest cars to be built in a long time. Obviously the time was spent to certify the legality of the car, so let's hope a few more are built. This was, without a doubt, a very expensive car to build. But what Super Stock car isn't these days. The cool factor of this car is way up there. I say great job Mr. Stock.

The 2014 is also available as a roadster, I think I need to send an email. I like the car, I mean I love topless, if its a race car or females.
