Used cam or not with a new lifter using a good BR fluid for a few passes will not hurt one bit and will make make you feel a little more at ease as well. Gibbs makes two different BR oils and works fine IMO.

Is a Sherman lifter just a limited travel stock lifter? I guess you have to cut way back on spring pressure with those?

I can’t remember which it is, it’s been a few years since I decided to see if Chevy ones would fit. I would just use the Sherman lifters. If you really want to use ceramics I have a used set. I quit using ceramics years ago.

I can ask them about that. I'm sure they can move the oil band if needed. They can probably make them taller, too. The price is reasonable enough that the upcharge would probably be as affordable as most anything custom.

I`m pretty sure the only difference between a Pontiac lifter and a Chevy is the placement of the oil band. It`s higher on a Pontiac lifter, you can get away with using a chevy lifter as long as the cam doesn`t have a small base circle.

As Todd Hoven asked, will i need to run 130-ish on the seat? And what roughly , do these run, cost wise? They may be the way to go...do they lash, like a Schubeck? or do you preload them, a little?

If I sat around looking at catalogs for availability while building an AMC, I'd never get it done.
Jeff, I understood SB Chrysler (pushrod oiling) are the same lifter. That's what I run in my 6 cylinder.

Brent, I would suggest a phone call to them and talk with them about the do and don't with their lifters he will talk with you and then you can decide what your comfort level would be with adjustment, spring psi , etc.
