The more I read about this event, the more I'm looking forward to it. I have the dates already on my 2014 calendar.

Michael, I saved a MML post of yours from almost 20 years ago when you participated in a bracket race where your dial was one-tenth quicker than your best time trial e.t. If you put as much effort into next year's event, it's going to be a huge success.

Spent about three hours with track management, Michael Fornataro, and Chris Stilwell, out at National Trail today to discuss the event. They've been very helpful from their end, and they're looking forward to the event as much as we are. A couple of things we need to touch on...

1) I talked to the track to see if they wanted to conduct their own test n' tune on Thursday to accommodate early arrivals. With it being the first weekend in May, I suspect a lot of people may be interested in a little extra seat time. If you would be interested in testing on Thursday, let us know. Your feedback may help them make that decision.

2) Entries going 9.99 & quicker MUST have a valid NHRA competition license and the car must meet NHRA safety rules. So if you are an "IHRA-only" class car that falls into this category, please make plans to get it taken care of before the race. You can find information and forms regarding Transfers for current IHRA licenses here: http://www.nhraracer.com/content/gen...983&zoneid=175

We are honored to be on board Mike. It's great to see an event showcasing the best classes in NHRA, Stock and Super Stock. I'm sure this is going to be a great way to showcase the best in sportsman racing, looking forward to a great turnout.

Mike, thanks to you for putting on this event...and your efforts to make it the BEST
EVER!!!

I will be there...one way or another...hopefully with a race car....

Know that you've spent MANY hours putting together the racers' side of things...

Wondering if you've had a chance to look at putting spectators in the stands?

Not trying to be critical here...but just read the thread about the future of the sport...

It's a tough task at best...given we're in the 21st Century...with so many "gizmo's"
to take up our time...

What are your thoughts on promoting this event for the spectators?

Remember...some of these people could be entrants...in a future Class Nationals!

As I posted in one of those threads, "Guess we'll find out next spring... I plan to advertise the Northern Class Nationals toward a spectator market. New territory for me, but I believe there will be a return on investment, and I believe in THE SHOW -- that's you."

Among the many things we talked about in our meeting at the track yesterday was looking into the various media markets in the area (radio, billboards, retail stores, online advertising, car shows, cross-promotion of events, etc.) From the get-go, I've expected to do distribution of discount spectator tickets.

For those who don't know this...
The original USCN did quite well, spectator wise, for this type of event.
There were hardcore fans for all over the country in attendance.
I suspect this will happen again.
