Hi Michael, thanks for all your work in putting this event together. I'm expecting to have a really good time.
I may have missed the original discussion of class formats, but per this post: "People should be able to come into the event without having to adjust weight to fit a particular class. The exception to that may be if a combination has a different HP factor between NHRA and IHRA, we will defer to the NHRA HP factor. Also, as mentioned earlier in this thread, Trucks and Fuel Injected cars will all run in their NHRA-designated classes (not separated as they are in IHRA)." Fuel Injected cars will not have their own class? And cab some hp ratings be questions. Example: My combo in NHRA - 217hp and IHRA 210. The difference can be a substantial negative impact. Once again, thanks for all your hard work to make this a great event. |

Trucks and Fuel Injected cars were consolidated back into the regular Stock categories a number of years ago, and we will be using the NHRA classifications for those cars. For any combo that has a discrepancy between HP factors between the sanctioning bodies, we will use the published NHRA factors as of the date of the race. These are published online and easy for everyone to check. Yes, there are a large number of combos that are factored harder or are classified differently in NHRA (ie., Terry's Dart Sport I drive is 293 HP vs 285, and my Turismo goes from being a second under in EF/SA to .50 under in DF/S, with the 'old' indexes) Remember, we will be adding .30 to the existing NHRA indexes, which will put most of them back to where they were, and matching IHRA indexes in many cases as well. This should allow everyone ample opportunity to compete.

The more I read about this event, the more I'm looking forward to it. I have the dates already on my 2014 calendar.
Michael, I saved a MML post of yours from almost 20 years ago when you participated in a bracket race where your dial was one-tenth quicker than your best time trial e.t. If you put as much effort into next year's event, it's going to be a huge success.
