Comparing your bracket car to an actual STOCKER is meaningless...... I've never used the "small tire" however big or small block on a big tire it's .08 to .12 in almost every case. This may or may not be due to the physical size of the tire I don't know. Oh and James he does indeed know everything just ask him.

Ditto the "10.5" shoot out" cars. Apples & oranges. With my little 3240 lb, 350" SS car, radials were usually almost two 10ths quicker before I had it back-halved. 10.5" tires back then. have not tried bigger bias tires yet. Can't spin these suckers.

Might ask ATI if you have the same converter they would sell you for a Stock or Super Stock? They do make a lot of bracket converters too.

I'm not impressed! I was running those times in the mid 90's at over 4000 lbs., with a Q-Jet and driving my car to and from the track every weekend!
![]() Meanwhile, I only offer advice and reply about what I KNOW and I KNOW radial slicks, get over it! Last edited by 1320racer; 06-10-2013 at 04:52 PM. |

I am not really sure what the arguing is about in this thread, but we race two Olds 442 Stockers and have been running radials for awhile now. They are worth about .07-.08 on our cars.No way a tenth.
We have tried them all at one time or another also.Right now,Hoosier really has their ***** together.I made four runs over the weekend, and 3 of 4 were the same 60 ft right to the thousandth.I was only running 1.531,which is a little slower than I would like, but I ran the car for the first time at 4,080 pounds.Over two tons of fun. |

You're results may vary....different brands, circumferences, etc.

I've back-to-backed M/T's 30" radial vs 28" bias, and the radial was still notably quicker even in the 1/8th mile, despite the taller tire.
