Mopar 68,
We travelled down that 'Avenue' also. Tim Hennessey was 'told' that the Dart was Charlie Castaldo's. Charlie's 'first Dart'; was a 4-Speed, and was sent to a salvage yard in Hunts Point (The Bronx), in 1969. Courtesy of the 'right side' Guard-rail at Englishtown in May 1969. ![]() Did anyone ever consider, since "sometimes the obvious is right in front of me, and I just cannot see it", the Hemi Dart in question is not an original Hurst-built car like Fink's machine pictured below? I know that's unthinkable but sometimes one must think the "unthinkable", i.e., outside the box, when trying to solve a problem, figure something out, especially something puzzling, etc. ![]() M68

Hemi D 68,
Regarding the Preston Honea / Ray Rixman SS/BA Dart. Kwik-Way Speed Engineering (out of St. Louis, Missouri) did the prep work on that car. In 1968, it ran primarily in AHRA {S/S Eliminator) Events. Lost to Herb McAndless at the AHRA World Finals at Kansas City International Raceway in October 1968. |
