Not sure where to start here. I've had a bunch of cars over the years, some classics, most fixer uppers, all kinda neat one way or another. Here's a partial list from memory:
1.57 Chevy Nomad. 327, four speed, previously owned by too many kids, fun driver, sold in 1976 to a collector. 2.'65 GTO tri power, red, black interior, four speed convertible. Insanely fast driver. It was all original and complete shoulda coulda woulda kept it, traded it for: 3.Red 62 Chevy impala hardtop with a 348/250 engine. Due to the fact that smog controls were requiring a retrofit device that made cars run badly in an attempt to weed out all the older cars, I installed a 280 horse tri-power on it,since the smog law exempted multiple carbs. I swapped in a Muncie 4 speed and a one piece drive shaft, car busted third members if you didn't try too hard. Great driver. 4. Red 62 Biscayne 2 door post car. Had a 409 with quads but no trans or shifter. It sat in storage for a while, then in a weak moment, I sold it to a big fat idiot down in Long Beach. He didn't want to finish paying for it, so he never got the pink. Later, I saw the car at OCIR, new plates and tags. He had bought a 62 Impala for parts, I strongly suspect he registered it, swapped VIN tags, and scrapped the Impala. If you ever see a 62 409 Biscayne for sale, probably a bracket car , and it has VIN# starting out 21847XXXXXX, that's what probably happened. 5.69 Plymouth road Runner, 383, 4 speed,3.23 gears, fast driver, great car.Orange, black interior, black vinyl top. I sold it in 1976, got my money out of it.It went 15.22 at Irwindale in 1976, street tires, no posi. 6 '58 Edsel Citation convertible. I bought it on a whim for $400.00 from the original owner. He came in and bought gas from me one day, I asked him what he was going to do with it, he said, Do you wanna buy it?Give me $400.00. When I picked it up and drove the E bomb home, my buddies told me,"We all knew you were crazy, this just proves it."Fun making the push button transmission work again. That was the car with the push buttons in the middle of the steering wheel. Kind of a fun car to drive around in,however.I sold it to a collector in 1975. He just sold it to another collector in Pennsylvania a few years back. 7. 70 Chevy Monte Carlo . 402, 400 trans, 12 bolt, red, black vinyl top, black bench seat interior, power windows,A/C, etc. Sold it to my brother in 1976 when he got married. New wife couldn't drive the Road Runner, it was a 4 speed. Car looked just like Doug Marion's econo performer project car from Super Chevy in the early 1980's. 8. 62 Chevy Bel Air bubble top, factory 409 car. Bought it as a roller in 1977, never got around to it, sold it to another 409 buddy. Car did get restored eventually.Red with a red interior. That's just a partial list. If I had all these cars back, where would I put them all? Fun reminiscing about this, however.Cars I enjoyed the most, however, are my red Stock Eliminator 68 Chevelles. |

I owned the fastest muscle cars you could buy: 5 Hemi cars, L 88, 2 396/375 Novas, '691/2 440 six pack and others but the car I had the most fun with was a 1964 Valiant Signet with a 225 slant six and a 4 speed. What a fun car, you could street race it and no one knew because it was so plain plus I put it on a couple of 330 cu Old's and 326 Tempest's!
JimR BTW I broke four 7 1/4 rearends in one year!
