Would be a nice SS short block and Hogans intake. I had a beautiful set of heads that were destroyed when a valve broke, and doing another set isn't in the budget right now.
Would it be a waste of time not going all the way?
Would it be off .100? .200? .500?
Thanks
Hi Mark:

I P&P a set of Iron LT1 Heads including combustion chamber.
Before doing so contacted Joe Mondello for Porting advice, following them to the letter.
He wrote an article about them a year later.

They have the Vortec Intake and used Stock 1.94/1.50 High Flow Valves.
Later that year lent them for our Pinks All Out Team project after their 383 blew.
They got a junk yard LT1 Block and used their Comp 503 Cam.

The car was a 95 Caprice look alike SS which ran a best of 12.10 in the Summer.
Got the heads back after that engine expired.

They replaced that engine with a Corvette LT1 with Aluminum heads using the same cam.
The car ran consistent 12.80s with an occasional 12.70.

See 2 attachments..
When the Engines lost oil the Valve Stems got scuffed and the Head needed new Valves and Guides.
These have the upgraded 2.02/1.60 Valves and use Howard ElectroPolished Springs.
