Re: Super stock/supergas motor/combo
A Super Stock engine, as applied to this forum, has rules which are mandated by either NHRA or IHRA. Briefly, a SS engine will have to match a year and body claimed and must include factory spec valve sizes, piston dome configuration and carburetor(s). You can have a replacement intake manifold but it must configure to factory (i.e., if it came with a single quadra-jet it must have a single carb intake manifold under a spec quadra-jet. If it came with 2 4bbl carbs it must have 2 4bbl carbs inline or off-set like factory installed). The race organization also specifies the volume of certain parts like intake / exhaust runners and combustion chambers. In a nutshell, that says what you are proposing is a Bracket or maybe Super Gas or Super Street type engine. But definitely not a traditional Super Stock engine.
Good luck and have fun.
