Hello.
I have a GM automatic trans that I believe is a metric 200 but dont know enough about GM stuff to know. It has metric on the pan and there is no removeable tailshaft or bellhousing. The entire trans is one piece and there is a four wire connector on the left side. If its not the 200 could it be the 700 metric? I really dont know enough about it to know. Thank you.

That is probably a Metric 200 with converter lock up. It could also be a 200 4R, given your description. If the transmission mount bolts on right at the very back, and it has a rather long, odd shaped pan, it is a 200 4R. If it looks like a rather small TH 350, has a sort of normal shaped pan, and the transmission mount bolts on closer to the pan, it is a Metric 200.

If it has 11 pan bolts, should be 200 trans. 700 has 14 bolts, I think. Ron.

Most GM transmission have a small rectangular sheet metal tag that is rivetted to the trans case. It has several number and letter codes on it. If it is still there post up all the letters and numbers, and we could probably figure it out exactly.
