Josh, it sounds like you already have an event, track and the connections to make this happen. Indy sounds like a great place to have it. I kind of wish it was a little earlier in the year, but it would give me an opportunity to leave the heat of a Texas summer (112 degrees on one Labor Day weekend a dozen years ago). Feel free to take it and run with it. Let me know how I can help. I'm semi-retired, so money is low for me. Time is available though.

X2 on the time of year. How's the weather there at that time?? Here it's hit & miss that late in the season. July, August is a much better chance of getting good weather yes???.
I like the idea & location tho.

This year our show is the 21-23. Last year we had 500 show cars and 400 race cars on the grounds, so the addition to the Hemi Reunion would make this an epic event.

We also are organizing an event downtown on Friday evening this year where they city is going to close off a small portion of Meridian St for us to park Mopars on (This is directly infront of the Slippery Noodle for those familiar)

We would gladly help with this event any way we can. The facility will already be paid for, so that will help lower the costs.

I also have a license to use the name Mopar and will have no problem getting the permission to use Hemi for this event.

We will also have direct lines to the folks at Mopar about bringing displays and whatever else we need to the show.

Glad to help!

Josh
Josh, glade you are interested in promoting this future 426 Hemi Anniversary event...but are you talking about holding it this year or next year...also I always thought that a "central location" like Indy or Gateway would work out better for everyone out east and out west...I guess all that is left to do is work out the details & dates on some of these models.

2012 -1962 413 Max Wedge Dodge & Plymouth 50th anniversary.

2013 - 1963 426 Max Wedge Dodge & Plymouth 50th anniversary.

2014 - 1964 426 Race Hemi Dodge & Plymouth 50th anniversary.

...just sayin'

The weather is historically very good through september here.

We did have some rain last year, but the rest of the month was steller.

I am putting it out there that I will host the 2014 event and anything in between then and now that the racers and enthusiasts need. With the cost of venues being what they are these days, we need to do everything we can to support the hobby!

It sounds like Liteweight is offering his '68 Hemi Dart for use in any future promotional advertising...who will be number two.

I thought Lightweight was offering free rides to everyone in his Dart! LOL! I like theidea of a Max Wedge event this year. Get the ball rolling early to get the word out. Hopefully it will build even stronger every year. I haven't been to one of the Monster Mopar events, but maybe I can pop up to St. Louis and check it out.

That wasn't my intent, but sure why not. Someones gotta be the first to step up, so's I fiqured might as well be me.

edit: James posted while I wuz typing so my above statement does not apply to the "free rides".It applies to the promotion.
I might be tempted to take a couple thrill seekers for a "slow ride" tho. I really don't need much of a reason to take this thing out other than $hits & giggles. Really!!!!
