Hey Danny, did you ever get the urge to build up another Malibu just like you used to have...what color was yours.

Anyway here's another old photo of a '64 with a 283 4 speed...

Another old pic of one...still brand new.

I really dig the rear wheel opening and rear axle centerline on this one.
I had a 64 Plymouth that look similar. The Mopar Performance spring perches have 3 holes in them. I just drilled another hole in the shock plate and moved the housing forward 1 to 1-1/2" for a little extra weight transfer (plus my driveshaft was about an inch too short, but that's another story...) Using a later K-frame in these cars sets the motor back about 1-3/4" which we also did. Took NHRA a while to catch on to that one

Talking Re: 64 No More..

No,, never did anything with the '64,, I was a junior in HS, but after graduating and going into the working world,, I did pick up a Marina Blue '67 Malibu hardtop, another 6 cylinder, 3 speed car, but I spent my hard earned cash and time on it, eventually running an 11 to 1 327, with a 30/30 Duntov cam, 462 heads, a Torker intake, and a 4 speed,,, much better. My 'ol man told me if I bought that engine, I might as welll move out , but I called his bluff, put it all together and he enjoyed it as much as I did, when I would hand him the keys!
Fun times,, that car taught me a lot,, especially how to change clutches!

There were several race teams that used the '64 thru '66 Plymouth Barracuda's as their drag cars...

I'm thinking "Mongoose" spent a little time behind the wheel of this Hemi Cuda.
