The overall production numbers for the 1965 426-S 'Street Wedge'.

Plymouth = 4469
Belvedere, Belvedere II and Satellite

Dodge = 2100
Coronet, Coronet Deluxe, Coronet 440 and Coronet 500

These cars were not abundant, and by 1969, very few were running at the Drag Strips.

For NHRA Stock Class, they had a hard time; only 10.3-1 compression ratio, small exhaust port heads, mild hydraulic
camshaft, mid-range pressure valve springs, poor-flowing intake manifold, and under-sized 575 CFM Carter AFB carburetor.

No match for the 1967 thru 1969 'Super Commando' 440/375 HP Mopars.

474 ci. Indy headed wedge motor, not quite superstock legal, lol. Funny story about the car when Bob Reed owned it. My dad had it at the body shop he worked at doing a paint job on it [black]. He said Bob called him and said he wanted to change the oil in it. My dad met him at the shop and Bob started the car to warm the oil. Next thing he knew, Bob took off down the highway open headers , slicks and all. Said he took it down rt. 23 to Waldo and back. The 70's were a fun time.
